I decided to make a small website/blog. I know, how very 2005 of me.
It’s not that I think that I have so many original thoughts that the world desperately needs to hear, but three or four times a year I do think about writing something that might be of interest or could be useful to at least a handful of people.
But I want to own my own content instead of giving it away for free to sites like Reddit, some random forum that might close down in a year or a blogging service like medium.com who can do whatever they want with it and earn money with something that I made for free and for the fun of it. And I feel like this is getting more and more important these days where enshittification is everywhere and sites shut down left and right or get pillaged by AI.
So here we are, I guess.
